ON THE WINGS OF MAZU
Woodblock prints on paper roll with ink stamp and pen 2020.
A lot of my work ties together ideas like consumerism, distribution of products via shipping and how this ultimately affects the thing we judge our reality with at a fundamental level; our senses. The five senses that we use to navigate through life and how through dilution of our senses we easily lose a clear vision of nature and ourselves. On the Wings of Mazu was stamped using a customized ink stamp across the six different large scale works and refers to the Chinese sea goddess who is known for keeping a watchful look over those travelling by sea.
